My teacher was Michel Blanc (www.myspace.com/michelblanc), and I followed his drums lessons during about 10 years. After «lycée», with my literatury baccalauréat, I’ve choosed to study philosophy at the université of Jean Moulin Lyon III. At this moment, I’ve began to be an autodidacte. The fact is that the metal way of playing drums is pretty new, and still be invented today, so the fact that I’m autodidacte is not a problem for me. Moreover, all the drums lessons I followed have gave to me the fondamentals to learn other way of playing drums. Let’s talk a little about my approach of the metal way of playin drums...I consider that the technique is an important things, but not the main thing. The main thing still be thah what you play have to sound great ! In metal music, technicity is an artistic element, not an element of demonstration, exept if it used in a wrong way. That’s why I think that there are two wrong way to consider technicity. The first is to consider that it is the only of playing drums in metal, the second is to think that technicity cannot be artist, an so, not interesting. If I consider taht technicity is an important thing, I also try to include other things in my drumming, like groove drumming. I also write the lyrics for Dead Talking Mind, my metal band, and my philosophy study help me for that. The content of the classes don’t really inspired me directly, but my personnal reading have an influence on my lyrics and on my approach of music and drums playing. My favorites drummer are Chris Adler, George Kollias, Alex Pelletier, Steve Smith, Neil Peart, Steve Gadd etc.... I listen to band like Lamb Of God, Nile, Despised Icon, Chimaira, The Black Dahlia Murder Moreover, I also do some vocal for Dead Talking Mind. I can do clean vocal, "heavy metal" vocal, and scream vocal. Have a good day, and enjoy my videos !
