About me - I have been a banjo player for 37 years and also play resonator guitar, guitar, mandolin and bass. My full time playing career has spanned the past 25 years with touring groups in the bluegrass genre and also with groups spanning rock, Americana,pop,blues,jazz and original music. I'm also a studio musician with over 20 years experience and a instrument repairman, who learned the trade from my father. Teaching is also a passion of mine and I have been giving lessons in person for over 20 years in music stores and at my own studio. I discovered the internet about 10 years ago and was one of the first teachers in the country to use it for online teaching sessions. Skype has become the primary online vehicle for my online lessons. Sometime around 2008, I began to upload some free teaching videos to Youtube, as a way to give back. It has been something I've really enjoyed and its great to get emails and calls from users who say that my simple videos are helping them learn to play better. Technology and the web has revolutionized the way folks can learn to play and instrument, I'm glad to be here on this site,and look forward to helping folks learn to play the banjo or resonator guitar.
